Cutup Friday: 2023 Dolphins Zorro Variations
Zorro is an outside zone tag, used when running the play with a lead blocker towards a tight end. The tag asks the tight end and fullback/motion tight end to combo the EMOL (usually the Sam linebacker) to the force player. often the PSWR will push crack the force player, allowing the TE/FB combo to work to the cornerback.
The Dolphins got creative with Zorro in 2023. tagging different release paths and tweaking the blocking assignments.
In next week’s article, I will take a look at one of my favorite tweaks the Dolphins added for 2023. Today’s article provides the full-season cutup, with all variations.
The video below shows over 11 minutes of Zorro cutups.
