Bang-Pivot Weak is a foundational concept in the Dolphins offense. This concept fits Tua’s skillset, and can handle many different coverages. It even does a good job of getting somebody open when the defense gets three defenders on the two receivers. Bang-Pivot is shown on the left side (weak/two-man) in the image below.
Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill ran this route often. Make them the first read in the progression and give them a chance at yards after the catch on an in-breaking route.
Off this two man action, the Dolphins built many three man concepts to give the quarterback another option if the Bang-Pivot side is cloudy. The 2022 Miami Dolphins Complete Offensive Manual draws up 11 different versions, and shows how the concept attacks various coverages. These are also shown in the video at the end of this article.
Off this action, the Dolphins also run:
Bang-Pivot Strong
Bang - Stutter Rail
Four Strong Bang-Pivot
Each of these versions are broken down in The 2022 Miami Dolphins Complete Offensive Manual.
The video below shows an 11 minute cutup of the Dolphins running Bang-Pivot
